LIBERATED BY HIS RESURRECTION!

The Gospels present Jesus Christ as the Savior who will save His people from their sins.

Sin cripples us and the whole world.

Jesus Christ is the Liberator who makes the cripple walk. He forgives, He redeems, He heals and He saves.

Good News! The tomb of Jesus, closed and sealed with the authority and powers of this world was broken forever. Mankind has been liberated with the power of the resurrection of Jesus, who is Lord.

He is alive. He is risen. He makes everything new.

Healed by his wounds, our mission is to go out and preach that risen, liberating Christ to all nations. With joy and gratitude.

A BLESSED, HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!!

THE CHRISTMAS GREETINGS OF FR. PROVINCIAL

The birth of Jesus is the best news in the entire history of mankind: “God with us!” Simply because of love, in order to reconcile us and make us sharers of his divine nature!

The jubilation produced by such great news could be contained neither by Zechariah nor by Mary nor by Simeon… nor by Jesus himself, who in their time broke out in joy and they could not prevent themselves from sharing it with those around them.

It gives me joy to see how many of our brothers today are impelled by the mystery of Christmas to share with others the Good News of Jesus’ birth. Would that everybody shared in this joy! Hence my Christmas wishes:

May the joy of the Gospel inflame your heart this Christmas season and may its effect endure throughout the New Year 2014.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!Untitled2

THE CHRISTMAS GREETINGS OF FR. PROVINCIAL

MY CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

Many are the Christmas Greetings I have received these past days of December. All of them containing the same message and well-known good wishes. That is why our eyes often go straight to read the name who sends them. Their signature is precisely what makes each of them unique, worth of appreciation. In fact, it is the thought of those behind them what makes them valuable.

I wished to correspond individually to each of them. Its impossibility forces me to send this simple Christmas greetings, not to add any new message (everything has been said with Jesus´ birth), but only to say “thank you” to each and every one of you for your remembrance and your good wishes.

Let me express also my wish: May the Joy of the Gospel touch anew our lives this Christmas season and that the new year 2014 register the impact.

BROTHER AUTHORS NEW BOOK

BROTHER AUTHORS NEW BOOK

A member of our Dominican community in Macau, St Dominic’s Priory, has just published a new book on Vatican II. The publication came off the press in the first week of December, 2013 just a few days after the Year of Faith (2012-2013) and the commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the inauguration of the Second Vatican Council (1962-2012) was closed. The publisher of the book is the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House in Manila.

The book is entitled “Vatican II at Fifty Moral and Social Teachings”. It is a collection of essays written through the fifty years after the opening of the last Ecumenical Council. Most of them were penned in Manila, except three that were written in Macau, including the longest entry on the Pastoral Constitution of Vatican II Gaudium et Spes.

The author of Vatican II at Fifty is Fr. Fausto Gomez, OP who is at present an ordinary professor at the Faculty of Christian Studies of the University of Saint Joseph, Macau, and at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila.  The book is also the author’s modest and grateful contribution for the celebration of his Golden Jubilee as a priest (1962-2012).
